Reclaimed Wood, Sand & Seal

The customer had sourced this wood from a reclamation yard and wanted to use it throughout his open kitchen and front room. 

Firstly, Decorus prepped the floor and then began installing the boards individually. As the timber was old and had already been laid before, it often bowed out of place and had to be strapped down in sections to keep it firmly in place during installation and as it set. The job was intricate and challenging, but Decorus ensured it was completed to a high standard.

Decorus then had to sand the floor and stained it with a mahogany oil, to give a bright, warm feel to the whole room. The oil had to be applied evenly and following the grain of the wood for a flawless finish.
